Progressing from the Workflow Homepage

From the Workflows Homepage, If you have the relevant security permission, you are able to progress workflows by completing standard Central Tasks, Pass/Fail Tasks or a multiple selection Task.

Complete Milestone

This is a standard Central Task, and is accessed by right clicking on the relevant cell.

Select Complete Milestone to advance the workflow.

Pass /Fail Selection

This is a Central task with a task type of Pass/Fail task.  You choose either that the task has passed (and progresses the task to the next step) or failed and passes the task back to an earlier step. To access the options, right click on the relevant cell.

Select the appropriate response to advance the workflow.

Select Outcome

This is a Central Multi Action task.  You have a choice of multiple options to enable the workflow to jump to different steps (or a different workflow depending on the licence) subject to the outcome selected; it is accessed by right clicking on the relevant cell.

Click Select Outcome. The Select Outcome window appears:

Select the appropriate response to advance the workflow.

Note: You are able to add comments to all of the above choices.  The presence of a note is indicated by a red triangle in the top right hand corner of the relevant cell.

Non Milestone Tasks

During the design stage certain tasks may not have been flagged as being a milestone. It is possible to still progress these from within the Workflow Homepage even though they are not visible.

Click on the next Milestone in progress i.e. the item currently displaying the cog  , the non milestone tasks window appears:

The outcome displayed depends upon the task type created in the workflow designer. Right click the Cog in the Status column to display the relevant option, select the response. It is possible to add a comment specific to this workflow task – the presence of a note is indicated by a red triangle in the top right hand corner of the relevant cell.

Multiple Employee selection

When a step is ready to be assigned (where the step can be assigned to a number of employees e.g; Employee Category, or a multiple Responsibility type); you can select the next employee from the Workflow homepage (as long as the Step is set as a Milestone Step).

To select the next employee, right click on the 'choose employee cog'   and click the Select employee option.

The SelectEmployee window is opened to allow you to select the employee to assign the next step.
