Creating a Template

Workflow Design

CCH recommends that before creating the workflow, the following items have been considered and mapped out:

  • The full list of steps required
  • The ideal step order
  • The possible outcomes of each step
  • To whom the step should be assigned (an individual or a group of users)
  • The deadlines associated with each step

Standard Workflow Templates

To access the Standard Workflows select File > Maintenance > Central Workflow > Standard Workflows


To create a new template:

  • Click Add 
  • Enter the Name of the workflow
  • Enter the Deadline Date Type (Offset or Calendar Date) 
  • Enter Deadline Date 
  • Enter Type (Type is the workflow type, e.g. Personal Tax / Document / Corporation Tax)
  • Enter Starting Rule if required  
  • Click OK to add the template and launch the Step Creation window

Note: The Subject/Workflow types returned are dependent upon the products for which your practice is licensed.
