Cloning a job

On the face of it, a new Job Type is a separate legal entity.  So why can’t you just create a new Job by cloning an existing one?

There are essentially two reasons why cloning a Job is unavailable.

As the system relies on a central database of information, cloning a Job would create duplicate transaction entries.  A Counterparty may have duplicate receipts, payments or creditor claims.

The transaction history is important.  When a Job goes from Administration to Liquidation, the relevant date reporting receipts and payments is the date of the appointment of the Administrator.  It is therefore important to retain the transaction history of the Job for asset realisations.
