Multiple Portfolios

Last modified 07:49, 24 Apr 2017

Overview

In situations where a client has multiple portfolios they will normally need to be consolidated for CGT purposes. For this to happen you need to create a master portfolio for the multiple portfolios to consolidate into.

Master Portfolio

On the Open Portfolios screen select the Consolidations button and then click the Create button and enter a reference and report heading for the master portfolio. Once the master portfolio has been created you need to select on the consolidations screen, which portfolios you want to consolidate into the master.

Whenever you open a portfolio in a consolidated set a screen note will advise which master portfolio it belongs to. Similarly whenever the master portfolio is opened a screen note will advise which portfolios are consolidated into it.

When a portfolio in a consolidated set is processed the main analysis schedules will always reflect the consolidated position as will the Client format Disposals report. The Investment Schedule is best suited to the non-master portfolios.
