Overview

You can select to view a time sheet in one of three views: Periodic, Daily or Calendar.  You can also choose to record times associated with tasks in these views.

Periodic Entry (default)

This option is selected as the default.

  • you see all the days included in your selected time processing period in the one view.

  • you see the Timesheet presented in a 'spreadsheet' style comprising a fixed number of days.

  • you can record time and expenses in the Daily Entry view.

  • you see a weekly view with a table to enter time against a client/assignment for each day of the week.

  • you must create a new row for each client/assignment + task code combination.

Note

If you select this option, you will not be able to display the timesheet in the Daily Entry option view. A message is displayed that lets you know that this is not possible. However, if you select Daily Entry option, you will be able to switch the timesheet display between the Daily Entry option and the Periodic Entry option view.

Daily Entry

  • you see each day individually, with the table displaying a list of tasks for a given client/assignment combination.

  • you can record time and expenses in the Daily Entry view.

  • you can use the Automatic Timer.

  • you can add an entry in this view by clicking Add. You are prompted for details such as Client, Assignment, Schedule, Task and Time.

Calendar Entry

  • you see a familiar calendar view in the MS Outlook style that allows you to drag and drop tasks into units of time within your calendar.

  • you see 35 days which include the days of your selected time processing period.

  • you can see each day individually of your selected time processing period or see the period as a 5 day week, 7 day week,  or part of a 35 day month.

  • you can breakdown a day into different time scales of 5 minutes, 6 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 60 minutes.

  • you can use the Automatic Timer to record time taken on tasks or record the time taken direct on the timesheet.

  • you cannot use calendar entry to record expenses — only time.

Note

If you have administrator permissions, you may be able to configure Timesheet Settings for other employees. To configure Timesheet Settings for another user, first click Employees and then search for the employee you wish to administer.
Drill into the employee. Under the Timesheets Task Bar option you will see the System Settings option. Click the System Settings link to administer settings for the employee in focus.
