  • The Gift Aid scheme allows charities to claim tax relief on donations made. These donations have Income Tax deducted at the basic rate, which allows charities to reclaim the tax. There is no monetary limit on gifts that qualify for Gift Aid, however, a declaration form must be submitted to the charity beforehand. Community Amateur Sports Clubs and Deed of Covenants also qualify for the Gift Aid scheme.
  • You can claim tax relief against your income for gifts of qualifying investments and/ or shares sold for less than their market value to UK charities. You can claim relief for the following two types of investments: Qualifying shares and securities Real property This relief is in addition to exemption from Capital Gains Tax on such gifts.
