Agreeing Employees' Claims

Last modified 07:53, 24 Apr 2017

Overview

As the employees’ claims will effectively be the balance of their actual claims less the Redundancy Payments Office’s (“RPO”) subrogated claim, we will start by entering the RPO’s claim onto the system.

In this example, it is assumed that the RPO’s claim, and therefore the employees’ individual claims, agree with that originally entered.

Agreeing employees' claims

1.    Open Financials > Creditors > Preferential Creditors’ Claims.

2.    Double click on the entry for the RPO and go to the Claim Adjudication tab:

3.    Enter the following information:

Employee

POD Amounts

P O D date

11/07/2011

P O D Total

5047.91

Complete the values for the admitted column.

4.    Your screen should now look like this:

Note

If the proof total is the same as the amount recorded for the creditor in the SoA, the system will automatically populate the same amounts for wages, holiday pay, etc., as the SoA amounts for the proof.

Tip

You can right click on the creditor list to navigate directly to the [Proof of Debt] tab.

5.    The employees’ claims may now be entered.  The employee’s details shown below indicate that she does not have a preferential claim over and above that paid by the RPO, so her claim is purely unsecured.

The breakdown of her claim may be shown on the Claim Detail tab.

The claim may be admitted for dividend purposes in a similar manner to the RPO’s claim shown above.

Note

If you change the Filter on the Creditor Register to Unsecured Creditors you will see the unsecured creditor’s details appear.
