Importing the data into CCH Personal Tax

How data is imported into Personal Tax depends on whether Update automatically is ticked on the Tax Links screen.

If Update automatically is ticked, then the Accounts Production data and Fixed Asset Register data are imported as soon as the user goes into the Tax Return.

If Update automatically is not ticked, then you can either select Update from Accounts in the Ribbon within the Accounting period in Business Tax or click the CCH Accounts Production data is available... warning in the Errors and Exceptions panel.

If data has been exported from multiple accounting periods, you are requested to select the period to import.

The Accounts Production data and any Fixed Asset Register data is imported.

The warning in the Errors and Exceptions panel can also appear if Update automatically is ticked. This happens if you have both Accounts Production and Personal Tax open at the same time. If you click Update Tax in Accounts Production then the warning immediately appears in Personal Tax saving you from exiting Personal Tax and going back in to import the new data.

Further details are available about importing data in the Personal Tax Help. These cover the case where the CCH Accounts Production period does not match the Accounting Period set up in Personal Tax or where multiple Accounts Production clients are linked to a single Personal Tax return.
