Document Publishing

Overview

You can choose to electronically store returns and computations generated by the software. You can also communicate with your customers and send electronic versions of their tax returns and supporting computations, as well as supporting documentation. 

The above can be achieved by using the links to either CCH Document Management or CCH Portal. This will only be possible if they are available, as licenced products to your firm.

  • If you have access to CCH Document Management by having been allocated the relevant user rights, you will be able to publish tax returns, computations and bundles of both to CCH Document Management. You can publish the tax returns and computations before generating the IRMark (outside of Online filing) and You can publish the tax returns and computations (along with their submission criteria) at both when the IRMark is created and when the submission has been sent to HMRC.
  • If you have access to CCH Portal through an active licence agreement and you have been allocated the relevant user rights, you will be able to publish tax returns, computations and bundles of both to CCH Portal for your clients to access. You can publish the tax returns and computations in their draft state, to be sent to the client for review You can publish the tax returns and computations (along with their submission criteria) at both when the IRMark is created and when the submission has been sent to HMRC. Pre-requisites Please see the CCH Portal release documentation for details of how to set up your client's link with CCH Portal in order for it to be possible to succeed with the following instructions. Publishing documents to CCH Portal The publishing of documents to the Portal are fundamentally the same whether publishing from outside of Online Filing and from within Online Filing following the creation of the IRMark. To publish  documents to the client Portal without the inclusion of the IRMark and associated online filing documents: Open the period of account from the Tax Return tab within Central Click on the Publish to Portal link from the Actions panel in the left hand task bar Select the Return pages and or computation schedules to be published. Click the Publish button. The standard Portal New message window will appear. Enter a subject in the subject field Enter the message text that you want to accompany the documents being published. To save the message as "Draft" without publishing the documents to the client portal, click on the Save draft  Click Yes to accept the draft status. The message window will close. The draft message can be seen in the Message centre. Select the message from the message centre and double click to open the message window. Click on Send to transmit the message and document to the client portal. The client will receive an email notification that there is a message awaiting attention. Publishing documents from Online filing Documents can be published to the client Portal  following generation of the online filing submission and creation of the IRMark. It is also possible to Publish those documents following a live submission to HMRC. Select Online Filing from the Actions panel in the left hand task bar. Click on New submission  Attach any documents to include with the submission such as Accounts and other PDF documents. Click the pre validate link.  Resolve any errors displayed. Successful pre validation will result in an automatic test-in-live submission to HMRC. A success response will be displayed at the foot of the next window. Click Publish to Portal link. The following  window will display all the possible diocuments associated with the online filing submission. Only the following documents can be published:: CT600 and supplementary pages Accounts (if attached) Computation Other PDF attachments Click on OK The standard Portal New ,essage window will appear.
