You can merge your database contacts with your MS Outlook contacts via the Merge Contacts>CCH Central to Outlook menu option available in MS Outlook. You can also define which changed contact records are merged from the database into MS Outlook.
Once you has specified the Contacts folder you want the database contact details merged into, you are presented with the a selection form where you will determine which changed contact records you want to merge into MS Outlook.
Merge records - Date selection options
Other than the initial merge of contact details, all subsequent merges principally merge the changed records rather than the entire contact dataset. The date when the contact record was last changed within the database is kept and this date is used as a point of comparison when you elect to merge the ‘changed’ records back into MS Outlook.
Last Merged Date and Time
This is the default selection setting and detects the last time you merged the changed contacts into MS Outlook. This entry is compared to the date stored and any changed records are then merged. Note that the first time the contacts are merged from the database into MS Outlook, the Last Merged Date and Time is set to 01/01/1900 in order to record all relevant changed records.
Merge From Date
Use this option to override the default Last Merged Date and Time setting so you can merge contact records that have changed irrespective of the last time they merged. For instance, you might recently have merged your own personal contacts into a contact folder in MS Outlook and then determine that you want the entire office/department’s contacts merged into a contact folder.
The Merge From Date option merges all changed records since the selected date – irrespective of the last time you merged into MS Outlook.
The relevant merge documents will be displayed in the grid.
This selection merges all contacts irrespective of the date they were last modified.
As all contacts are merged, no records are displayed in the selection grid.
