Overview

The Main tab is the default display tab when you open a Contact or Client page. It contains the primary contact details for the contact or client.

What you can do on the Main tab

You can edit any details on this page other than the primary address and telephone details which are edited from the Addresses tab.

What it's for....

Address, Phone, Fax, Mobile and Email

Displays the primary address and contact details as defined in the Address tab.

Copies the address to the clipboard. This icon is displayed next to the Address field only if an address is available.

Aliases

Aliases are other names that your contacts or clients may be known by. For example, a business name or trading name. Aliases can be used as alternative search criteria when searching for contacts or clients. You can add an alias while creating a contact or client from a Wizard, or from the Main tab on the Contact Details or Client Details. The system administrator sets up the Alias types using Maintenance > System > Alias Type.

 

Notes

Double–click a note to open it, or select the note and click View. The contents of the note will be displayed in the Notes window. From here you can edit the note if required. Click Add to add a new note. Formatting options are available in the Notes page. Highlight a note in the list and click Delete to remove it. For more on Notes, click here.

 

Created by

This field displays the employee who created the client or contact and is entered automatically by the system.

 

Date created (D/Created)

This field displays the date the client or contact was created and is entered automatically by the system.

 

Place of birth

This field will only be available if the client or contact is a person.

 

Date of birth

Click the list to access the Calendar from which a new date can be selected. This field will only be available if the client or contact is a person.

 

Date of death

Click the list to access the Calendar from which a new date can be selected. This field will only be available if the client or contact is a person.

 

Became Client (B/Client)

This is recorded according to the system date when the client was created. In most cases this will be the same as the Date Created date, but it could differ if a contact was converted to a client at a date after they were created as a contact. Click the list to access the Calendar from which a date can be selected.

 

Year End

This is a memo field to remind you of the client's year end date. Click the list to access the Calendar from which a new date can be selected. This is only available in the Client window.

 

Tax Type

Select the tax rate that applies to the client. This setting determines the default tax rate applied to the client's bills.

 

Reg No

Enter client registration data. This field appears only for client records.

 

Tax Ref

Enter the client's tax reference number. This field appears only for client records.
